The third Elms Hotel was built in 1912, the first two Elms, built in 1888 and 1909 respectively, having succumbed to fire. Offering excellent hospitality and spa facilities for over 120 years, the most famous guest of the Elms Hotel was Harry S. Truman, who spent his Presidential election night here in 1948.
